Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust

HISTORY

Brian Galt is the owner of Pak’n Save Kilbirnie & previously owned both New World Miramar & Kilbirnie. He was in the United States in 1996 where a local supermarket was giving 2 cents from the sale of a can of baked beans to help build a local hospital. The 2 cents was funded by the supplier and leveraged through the business done with the particular store.

He decided he could use this concept to help raise funds for his interest, which is sport. The Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust was established with Brian personally investing a considerable amount of money in legal fees to get the trust set up properly and this enabled it to be granted Charitable Status by the Inland Revenue Department.

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRUST

The objective of the Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust is to promote, assist, support and encourage participation and expertise in all forms or amateur sport, both competitive and recreational, to help foster and encourage the development of primarily Junior Sports located in the Eastern Suburbs.

Focus Osteo

Focus Osteopathy

Vicky Tate and Oliver Lasham at Focus Osteopathy, have years of experience treating Triathletes, from some of New Zealand’s elite to many of Wellingtons local heroes including your very own Scorching Angel Daryl.

An Osteopath is like the body’s mechanic. We endeavour to discover what is preventing the body from its natural healing response and then remove that restriction to aid optimal function.

Osteopathic treatment is vital in the regenerative phase of training. It helps maintain optimal physical performance by preventing and resolving minor niggles and common injuries.

Being an open water endurance swimmer herself, Vicky not only understands the training requirements and psyche of an athlete, but the importance of the therapeutic and rehabilitative phase of training to aid performance.

To find out how Osteopathy can help you, have a chat with Vicky and Oliver at the Focus Osteopathy tent on race day, or contact them on:

Phil Proctor Massage

Phil-Proctor-Massage-400

There will always be reasons why we experience pain and discomfort. Sudden compression to soft tissue or poor postural holding patterns are the most common causes for complaint. For the athletes out there it is straight forward over use and fatigue. My massages are designed to decrease your recovery time so training schedules and daily life can continue with maximum efficiency.

Massage and the various physical therapies have many benefits for the body, and in turn the body influences the mind. I aim to improve the overall wellbeing of my clients by individually tailoring each massage to specifically suit their needs. Treating the body as a fully functioning unit and focusing on cause rather than effect, we will create a greater understanding and control over the problems presented.
