First Time? |
Is this the first time you are considering / committing to do a Duathlon?
Are you in need of some help and understand of what takes place and what you need to do?
We are here to help, and this page will slowly be added to with information / tips and techniques that will help you out....
Issue One: Duathlons are expensive to start into, look at the equipment needed (road bike, helmet, and all that lyrca)!Response: Participating in duathlons can be expensive as you would like to make them (but then so are most activities), but they don't need to be... If you are giving a duathlon a go for a first time, and you are unsure, take a soft approach to this wonderful sport.
If you got a pair of sneakers, a t-shirt, shorts, and can borrow any (road-worthy) bike - You can do a Scorcher!
You do not need the latest and flashiest gear! (You don't even need a road bike, a mountain bike will do!) The key is your attitude! (Are you out there to have fun and learn about yourself, or are you out to compare against others? - We cater for all and we would love to see you giving a Scorcher a go!
Issue Two: I don't know how to train for a Duathlon?Response: Well, if that is the case, you have come to the right place, not only do we give you multiple events and distances to target for, we also give you training programs to help you get there!
Thanks to Qwik Kiwi we have on this website plenty of training details to help you out.
So if you are looking for the training program, you can find it here.
If you have any other training questions that are not covered in Rays wonderful program and notes, please drop either us or Ray an email...
What else do you need to know for your first Scorcher?
If you have any questions as a first timer, please feel free to drop the Angels a message via our contact page, we are here to help you out (also we are looking for more issues / Questions to add to this page anyhow)
